Is there any problem when make a web store with nopCommerce 1.6?

Hi. All.
I have two questions about nopcommerce 1.6.

1. If I create a web site with nopCommerce 1.6, would cause problems in the future?
    For example, payment method, shipping method(usps, ups ..).. Is there any problem?
2. Where can I get developer documentation for nopCommerce 1.6?

Html Text Editor of 1.6 is batter than 2.3.
And I had installed nopcommerce 2.3 with source.
But I could not find the source like nopcommerce 1.6.
I don't know how to modify the source of 2.3 as 1.6.
Where do I find the source of 2.3? and how do I modify nopcommerce 2.3?
