Is there any plugs in that speed up the bulk import of products?

hi there
v3.9
i have a number of sites with 4500 products approx on each site.
i have all the products on a the standard excel spreadsheet.
it takes quite a while to import that many products. is there any plugin or other way that can speed this bulk import process up?

If you are familiar with SQL, you can write custom sql scripts to perform mass imports.
